Davis Ogilvie seeks employees with skills over a wide range of areas. As one of the South Island's leading land development professional services companies our focus is often on professional surveyors, engineers, resource management and project management skills, however at times we seek professional people with skills in a wide range of areas - IT, research, communications, HR, accounting and finance to name a few.

Work/Life Balance

Davis Ogilvie values its people. We try to approach work/life balance in ways that support the needs of both the business and the individual. We have a number of arrangements that include flexible leave arrangements, working from home arrangements, and are always open to considering ways to help a staff member manage the various demands that can occur in juggling careers with other commitments.

Learning and Development

We aim to provide a structured training plan for each employee each year and are proud to be an IPENZ Professional Development Partner. We offer internal courses and coaching to support development of interpersonal, professional and managerial skills and we try to assist our staff to build and develop their skills in their areas of expertise.

Davis Ogilvie focuses on identifying needs of each individual and targeting training and development to that person so that the individual builds their skills and enhances their career opportunities both inside and outside of the business.

Social Scene

Davis Ogilvie has a friendly and open environment. We encourage people to communicate and work together as a team.   We like to have fun and celebrate our achievements.

We have a social club that organises activities throughout the year. These activities have included Golf Days, Touch Rugby, Indoor Soccer, Indoor Volleyball, Go-Karting and Mid Year and Christmas Dinners.

Vehicles - depending on the needs of the company a vehicle may be available.

Professional Subscriptions - Davis Ogilvie meets the cost of your annual professional subscription.

Cell Phones - depending on the role within the business, cell phones may be available for full use.

Long Service Leave - permanent employees are entitled to long service annual leave when they reach the following years of service. After ten years continuous service an extra holiday of one week per annum. After 20 years continuous service the employee is entitled to an extra two weeks per annum, plus an additional four weeks sabbatical leave to be taken within the following five years.

Paid Training - by prior agreement for both job specific skills and personal development.

Health Insurance - employees at Davis Ogilvie can access a company group discount with Southern Cross Insurance.

Travel Benefits - for senior staff who are required to undertake significant amounts of travel, club memberships may be available.
